Some marbles are used in adult games, including "chinese
 checkers"
and others.  Also marbles  were sewn into the hem of
 curtains for weights.
(as per a lengthy discussion of marbles on this list a year
 or so ago)
Limestone and stoneware marbles have also been used as rifle
 shot
and navel canister shot.
