I'm Dave Larkin; I'm a board member for the Newtown (Connecticut)
Historical Society. Our Main St. still has many 18th and 19th
Century homes.  The Society owns and maintains one as a museum;
I live in another. We've sponsored some digs in the back yard
of the museum for local high school students. And finally, the
town, after due deliberation, will be responding over the next
few years to a 1968 state order to install sanitary sewers. The
Historical Society will have to help identify areas where
archaeological analysis will be required before turning the backhoes
loose.
