Dear List Members,

I'd like to take this opportunity to advise that reminder that registrations
are now open for the NAS 2007 Annual Conference.

Featuring presentations from a range of professional and amateur
archaeologists (with a focus on historical archaeology), the 2007 NAS Annual
Conference will provide an opportunity to discuss research, review the
archaeological activities of members, exchange ideas on managing our
maritime heritage, and network with friends and colleagues from both the UK
and abroad.

We have a fabulous line-up of speakers this year, including:

Colin Palmer (University of Southampton): The
Traditional Boats of Vietnam: A study in diversity

Peter Holt (3H Consulting ):
The use of GIS in Maritime Archaeology

Deborah Cvikel (Haifa University):
The Akko I Shipwreck

Courtney Higgins (INA)
A Monumental Cargo: The Roman Column Wreck at Kızılburun, Turkey

Della Scott-Ireton (Florida Public Archaeology Network): Underwater
Cultural Heritage Management in Florida: Preserves, Programs, and the Public
Archaeology Network

Kevin Camidge (DarkWright Archaeology): HMS
Colossus

Wang Yu (Academia Sinica, Taiwan):
Underwater Archaeology in Penghu: Aspects and Approaches

John Broadwater (NOAA, USA):
Thirty years of protecting maritime heritage in the National Marine
Sancturies

Mark Dunkley (English Heritage):
The Value of Historic Wreck Sites

George Lambrick (NAS):
An Essay in Family Archaeology

John Gribble (Wessex Archaeology):
Meetings with the Oceans: South Africa's Maritime Heritage

Tickets start from £20. Details attached.

The Conference Dinner will be held in the Victory Gallery at the Royal Naval
Museum, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, and is an event not to be missed. This
exciting international event, will also incorporate a maritime trade
display, poster exhibition, the 5th Annual Adopt-A-Wreck
