with the usual apologies for cross-posting, I am posting on behalf of the organizers:

Seeking Poster Session Participants: 2014 Society for American Archaeology Poster Session

Session Organizer(s): Laura J. Galke and Dr. Eric L. Larsen

Title: Archaeology and Popular Narratives: Negotiating Discovery, Expectation, and Interpretation

Session Abstract: The narratives we encounter amidst the landscapes and objects we investigate influence our research design, data collection, analysis, and interpretations. Archaeological data can complicate popular accounts. This session will explore the dynamics between ideology, archaeological data, and narrative.

Please contact Laura Galke ([log in to unmask]), or Dr. Eric Larsen
([log in to unmask]), session organizers, if interested.
