A wide variety of textiles and clothing made it over here during the
colonial period. Up here in Canada, the Hudson's Bay Company
documents are full of references to such items. Some of these are
listed in various parts of my report on "Nottingham House: The
Hudson's Bay Company in Athabasca 1802-1806," HISTORY & ARCHAEOLOGY
No. 69, 1983, Parks Canada. For further south, The Museum of the Fur
Trade Quarterly vols. VI(3) & IX(2) contain articles on blankets, and
other issues deal with hats, coats, etc. I don't specifically know of
any publication on what you are looking for. Someone else may be able
to help. If everything else fails, or you just want to get some more
info, contact Charles E.Hanson, Jr., The Museum of the Fur Trade, 6321
Hwy. 20, Chadron, Neb. 69337. He has a heck of a lot of info on just
about any aspect of the fur trade and what came over here from Europe
and the rest of the world. Good luck.
