In the neck of the woods where I grew up (Rochester, NY region), these doors
were called 'bilco' doors. Or for short, 'the bilco' (as in go open the
bilco).

        Subject: cellar doors

Query: For us city folks or exurbs: Is there a special name for
those type of cellar entrances that consist of double doors laid at a 450
against the house. Thanx for your help. JRW
