Hi everyone,

Just FYI, Michigan Archaeology Day is October 12 at the Michigan Historical Museum in Lansing, MI from 11 AM to 3 PM. The event is free, parking is free, and admission to the museum is also free. Atlatl throwing, flintknapping, presentations, and activities for children are all part of the event. Over a dozen once-a-year displays ranging from 11,500 year old Paleoindian tools to mid 19th century farmsteads to underwater/maritime research as well as much more will be exhibited by professional and avocational archaeologists from around the state. Full details available at:

https://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,4570,7-153-54463_18595_18596-283662--,00.html

Also, pre-orders for the 2014 Michigan Archaeological Society calendar are now being accepted. The calendar covers a broad range of archaeological themes including historic, prehistoric, and maritime. A preview of the calendar images are available at the MAS website home page at www.miarch.org and also on the order form at http://www.miarch.org/CalendarOrderForm2014.pdf. The cost of the calendar is $8.50 (includes shipping).
