In addition to the Zumwalt book discussed by Jim Murphy, there are a few
other sources you might consider.  1) I believe Gulden's Mustard is still a
going concern.  If so, the company might be able to provide an answer to
your question.  2) There was recently, and hopefully still is, a museum
dedicated to mustard lore and could possibly be of help to you.  The Mount
Horeb Mustard Museum is located at 109 E. Main St. in Mount Horeb, WI
53572.  The number I have for it is: 1-800-GET-MUST and (608) 437-3986.  3)
An excellent review on the history of mustard was published by Olive Jones
in 1983 in HIST.ARCH. 17 (1): 69-84.  (I don't think the article touched on
the Gulden Co.
