I'm Sandi Sauer, a graduate student at Simon Fraser University in the
process of completing my M.A. thesis in Historical Archaeology. The
project I'm focussing on for my thesis is an excavation I ran two
summers ago at an open air museum in the B.C. interior called the
O'Keefe Ranch. The time period being mostly 1880-1920 that I'm
concentrating on. I was also the Lab Instructor for our field school
last year which ran out of Barkerville, B.C. (also an open air
museum, but our excavation concentrated on a Chinese secret society
building). I was quite involved in the SHA meetings last January,
being the volunteer coordinator (if anyone needs any helpful hints in
the future like - DON'T DO IT). If it's at all possible, I want to
make a carreer of this type of research.
