It just so happens that I have a great many of the books on underwater
archaeology right here next to me.
Gould, Richard A. (editor) SHIPWRECK ANTHROPOLOGY (Albuquerque: School
of American Research book, University of New Mexico Press, 1983).
Bass, George F. (editor) SHIPS AND SHIPWRECKS OF THE THE AMERICAS
(London: Thames and Hudson, 1988).
Muckelroy, Keith (editor). ARCHEOLOGY UNDER WATER: AN ATLAS OF THE WORLD'S
SUBMERGED SITES (NY: McGraw-Hill Book Company, 1980).
McKee, Alexander. HISTORY UNDER THE SEA (London: Hutchinson, 1968).
Mathewson, R. Duncan, III. ARCHAEOLOGICAL TREASURE: THE SEARCH FOR NUESTRA
SENORA DE ATOCHA (Woodstock, VT: Seafarers Heritage Library, 1983.)
Muche, James F. and A. Lani Low (compilers). A BIBLIOGRAPHY OF UNDERWATER
ARCHAEOLOGY (San Marino, CA: Fathom Eight Special Publication #3, 1983).
You'll probably notice that I left out the various books by Robert Marx
(Underwater Dig, Search for Sunken Treasure, etc.) This is due to the fact
that his work is held in rather low esteem by current researchers.
I will post Barto Arnold's book tomorrow, when I find the full citation, I
think that the title is THE NAUTICAL ARCHAEOLOGY OF PADRE ISLAND but am not
sure (it's not easy to think when you have a 3 year old destroying the house
behind you...).
