Dan,
I helped tear out lath and plaster in an abandoned house (abandoned by   people, that is.....not by the bats) and we had to wear respirators   because the fumes from the dung were so powerful.  I know there is lots   of info out there, which I haven't read personally, but I know that bat   dung is bad for you.
