Hi Histarch, Dr. Esther White and I thought some on this listserv might be interested in the Council of Virginia Archaeologists’ (COVA) recent survey report on the state of collections in the Commonwealth.  COVA’s Collections Committee spent about a year surveying the many repositories that house archaeological collections in Virginia.  The report presents the results of these findings, in addition to research on other similar state initiatives, recommendations for the future, and concludes by highlighting some of the outstanding examples of success when old collections are revisited for education and research purposes.  Feedback’s welcome!
