Hello Lists:
We're back from the wonder filled two week trip, Assignment Egypt, with
some answers to questions and a new question. (I now have nearly 1,000
photos of Egypt.)

1) Re: the Khufu sarcophagus in the Cairo museum. I found two. One was
identified to Khufu Ankh and the other Khufu Djedf. Neither had a
cartouch, so were not a sarcophagus of the king, which as we all know,
remains in the Great Pyramid.

2) Tut's "Throne" Someone suggested that the sandles of Tutankhamon and
Ankhasenamon had been broken off because they do not appear in some
drawings/photos. Careful examination revealed that there is no
indication that they were ever there. The feet closest to the viewer
are bare (an indication that the chair may be a wedding chair, not a
throne).

Here's something I have *not* found in the news, either in Egypt or here
in the US. We went to Hatshepsut's Temple on November 21st and the
place was littered with tourists. A little later, on our way back to
Luxor, we learned that there had been a cave-in of the bus road to the
temple. There was no news whether the cave-in was a natural hole in the
rocks or if there was a tomb beneath the road. The road was closed, and
as we passed the temple there was not a tourist in sight. If anyone has
seen news of this cave-in, I'd sure like to know more about it for an
article in The Glyph.

OK, now that we are back...All Centimeter Scales orders received while
we were gone have been filled and are in the mail. Those interested in
obtaining the scales (used to indicate object size in photographs) may
see them, with ordering information, on our web site at:
                http://www.web-sculptors.com/glyph/open.html
Click on Enter, then on the Centimeter Scales banner. Orders are filled
the same day received.
