Barry--Are you sure this isn't some sort of beehive kiln or variant? It sure
looks like  an updraft kiln of some kind. Definitely check Rhodes, and maybe
Michael Cardew's Pioneer Pottery... I'll forward this to other interested
parties... Let us know what you find out. The web site is good and helpful.
