Stan sent this to me instead of the list, so I'm sending it forward.

Felicitations! My name is Stan Copp and I have been teaching
Archaeology, Anthropology (both Cultural and Physical), Canadian
Studies, Archaeology Field schools (British Columbia and Kenyan
locations) and a small host of special topics courses since 1979 at
Langara College in Vancouver, B.C. Most of my work in the past has
been of the prehistoric nature (Coastal and Interior B.C.) as is my
just commenced Ph.D field work in the Similkameen valley re: culture
history, ethnic boundaries in prehistory and rock art.
I have historic archaeology interests as well - worked on two
fur trade posts in the Fort St. John area in the late 1970's with
Simon Fraser University's Dr. Knut Fladmark. My own work in this
field has involved five years excavating at Fort Langley National
Historic Park (1839-1888) - which also has prehistoric components
dating back ca. 8300 yrs bp (uncalibrated), the historic Grist Mill
at Keremeos, an early 20th century garbage dump in Vancouver re:
urban archaeology, and (hopefully) we might get permission from the
Kenyan government to conduct test excavations of at least one 14th to
16th century Swahili town on the Indian Ocean coast of East Africa
when we return next Spring.
As you can probably gather from the above my interests an field
experience are a bit eclectic. I am also rather keen on popular
material culture studies (Rathje's "garbology") and have collected
some interesting data on college grafitti over the years.
I also own and use a replica 1852 Navy Colt revolver percussion
cap blackpowder and a hand-built Hawken .50 calibre percussion cap
musket which is fun to use on our Fort Langley field school to show
students how things operated back then (besides - I like the noise,
smell and smoke of blackpowder!).
So - if you have similar interests, drop me a line.
