If you have footstones as well as headstones, the footstones may be smaller.
 In regards to orientation, we have found that it is easterly (the head at
the west end, looking east), but the exact direction will vary largely
depending on the season of burial--the sun was often used to judge alignment
and a burial in January will point in a somewhat different direction than one
made in July.
