    ARCHAEOLOGIST
 
The Cultural Resource Group of Louis Berger & Associates, Inc. is seeking an exp
erienced
archaeologist to fill an immediate position opening in our Midwest Regional Offi
ce.  This is a
full-time, salaried position, not a temporary appointment.  We are looking for a
 dedicated, self-
motivated individual to pursue quality archaeological research in a cultural res
ource management
context. The successful applicant will serve as Principal Investigator and will
be responsible for
designing and implementing archaeological reconnaissance surveys, site evaluatio
ns, and site
mitigation projects, supervising field crews and laboratory personnel, analyzing
 artifacts, and
preparing technical reports and proposals.
 
Applicants must have a graduate degree in archaeology or anthropology and at lea
st two years
of
supervisory-level work experience conducting archaeological field surveys and ev
aluating
archaeological resources.  Qualified applicants will be asked to provide work sa
mples that
demonstrate strong analytical and writing skills and an ability to complete work
 within specified
budget and schedule parameters. Individuals with previous experience in Midwest
or Eastern
Plains prehistoric or historic archaeology are strongly encouraged to apply.  Ex
perience with a
range of computer applications, artifact/site analysis, and familiarity with his
toric preservation law
is highly desired.
 
Competitive salaries are negotiated based on qualifications.  Employment benefit

etc.  The successful applicant must relocate to the Marion/Cedar Rapids metropol
itan area (Pop.
150,000) and will be expected to travel for project assignments.  EOE.
