As I recall from one of the thousands of Great Lakes fort visits my father
dragged us on as children (I liked the forts, just couldn't stand the
noise of the damn cannons and muskets going off all the time), I believe
the 18th-century Old Fort Niagara, north of Niagara Falls, NY, held German
prisoners of WWII (no Japanese).
