I recently did a paper on the relation between Japanese
   feudal practices and modern Japanese business methods.
   While I found the topic extrememly interesting, I found
   almost nothing in the way of documented research...
   all of my research was original.  Has anyone ever done
   any work on this subject?  I'd love to study it even
   further.
