Good Morning All:)

We recently excavated several iron axe heads with broken cutting edges from
a cotton plantation shop deposit along a Chidster stage line road in extreme
southwest TN. The deposits date no earlier than the 1820s. Does anyone know
of a good resource(s) that sheds some light on the chronology and stylistic
change of historic axe heads in the US? Any help appreciated.
