Thanks to James Murphy and Robert Genheimer for their comments on the clay
pipe from Port of Miami/Orleans (33Wo50). I understand about the uncertainty
about attributing this pipe (with unmarked stem) to a specific, historical
manufacturer at Point Pleasant, Ohio. Thanks also to Smoke Pfeiffer for the
tobacco pipe and ball clay references and publications.
