I worked at a 1878 telegraph station this summer and I need some help in
sorting out the artifacts that I recovered. I was wondering if there is
any specific reports on telegraph equipment that I should turn to (I saw
the references on insulators posted to Arch-L). I am interested in what
the batteries used to power the telegraph would have looked like since we
found some interesting thick glass fragments that are not insulators or
bottles. Since I just signed on to the list, please forgive me if this has
been the major topic of interest forthe last month and you are all sick and
tired of talking about telegraph parts.
