Some of the usual fluff in trying to make something "boring" seem
interesting to the general reader, but what's missing is any analysis or
explanation of what could be really interesting to us: how/why Picts got
their "historical" reputation for being "enigmatic savages who fought off
Rome's legions before mysteriously disappearing from history":
