Much of the Heritage and Environmental legislation is provincial since that
is where the responibilities to these areas seems to fall. There is the
Canadian Environmental Assessment Act which does mention heritage as one of
the areas to be considered. They use to have this act posted on the web
and it still might be there. Just check out the department of environment
under the government of Canada on the webb. There is some limited federal
legislation that covers specific areas such as railway stations and there
is enabling legislation for the Canadian Parks Service which, as part of
its mandate includes a number of historic sites. I have not gone webb
browsing for a while and so I don't know if any of this is on line.

Each province and territory will have specific heritage and environmental
legislation. I am reasonably sure that in each case they are different
acts under different provincial ministries. Each jurisdiction has a
"Queens Printer" and you can order legislation from them for a cost. Since
to cover all bases you are probably looking at some thirty different acts,
you migh want to narrow your request. Once again, you might be able to get
some of this information on the webb.
