Just a guess, but "CFB&L" could stand for "Christian (or Catholic) Faith
(or Friendship), Brotherhood, and Love." Such phrasing comes up commonly
in various permutations among faith-based organizations.

Happy Halloween All!

For those not out trick-or-treating I have a question regarding a piece
shown me yesterday. It is a triangular pendant, probably pewter, about
2" on each side. When found in the soil there was evidence of a chain,
but the attachment point is gone. At the top of the triangle are the
letters "CFB" and at the angles at the bottom are "&" and "L". The
piece shows a nurse or nun tending to a person in a wheelchair with a
bed in the background which may have someone in it. The image is not
clear enough to determine what the wheelchair looks like (thus dating
it). At first I thought the CFB stood for Clara Barton, but her middle
initial was "H". I've googled it and checked out a few related artifact
books, but nothing. The piece was found around Wilton, Maine, but have
no specifics. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
