Dear Group,

My name is Gilda Anroman and I am a graduate student at the University of
Maryland. I just received my master's degree in Applied Anthropology
with a concentration in archaeology (I also have a BA in biology). I
will be starting a Ph.D. program in September - also at the Univ. of MD -
but in the American Studies Department. My interest is in studying
landscape history from an interdisciplinary perspective. This would
include archaeology, anthropology and history as well as
geography and ecology. I am very interested in using computer graphics
technology in my research. I have experience using AutoCAD (I am
currently the AutoCAD instructor in the anthropology department) but I
need to incorporate GIS into my work. The Geography Department here at
UMD has the ARC/Info software. I do not find this particular software
user friendly - at least not yet. If anyone has any suggestions or
comments, I would appreciate them.

Thanks! Looking forward to talking with you.

Sincerely,
Gilda M. Anroman
