Hello,

The latest issue of the Old Pueblo Archaeology bulletin - issue no. 78 - has
just been published electronically! This new issue's feature article by
archaeologists Barbara J. Roth and Darrell G. Creel is titled "Mimbres
Pueblo Life and Livelihood." In it Dr. Roth and Dr. Creel summarize the
Mimbres culture of the ancient American Southwest, touching on its
environmental setting, history of archaeological research, pueblo
construction, ceramics, daily life, and regional depopulation, and including
information on their recent excavations at Elk Ridge, a Classic Mimbres
pueblo site. Their article is accompanied by numerous illustrations of
Mimbres Valley archaeology and environment contributed by the authors and
our colleagues Steven LeBlanc, Paul Minnis, Harry Shafer, C. Burton Cosgrove
III and Carolyn Davis, and the Logan Museum of Anthropology at Beloit
College.

A second article in this issue introduces the current members of Old Pueblo
Archaeology Center's Board of Directors, whose efforts we really appreciate;
and a third acknowledges two organizations that partnered with Old Pueblo
this year to make our January Art for Archaeology fundraiser a heartwarming
success. The issue concludes with a list of some upcoming Old Pueblo
Archaeology Center presentations, tours, and other activities.

Like every issue, this latest one is written in a nontechnical format,
includes ample illustrations, and is published electronically in pdf format
for on-line access. Each issue of Old Pueblo Archaeology includes one or
more feature articles about southwestern archaeology, history, or cultures
and provides news about Old Pueblo Archaeology Center's activities and
program offerings.
