Tim, I see you received no replies, and so let me make a suggestion. Please
understand I have not done this since the early '50s, I don't know that the
iron deposit removed was iron oxide, and most importantly, I've no
expertise at all. Try a bit of oxalic acid, starting with a weak solution
on a test area.
