Mary,

I am a student at Florida State University and there is anunderwater
component available through the Anthropology Department here. It is
basically a two-year M.A. program with an additional year of coursework,
as I understand it (I have taken underwater arch classes in order to
broaden my knowledge of technique/arch law/etc., but am primarily
interested in terrestrial arch). It is supervised by George Fischer, one of
the first underwater archaeologists in the U.S.

For more info, write:
        Florida State University
        Department of Anthropology
        G24 Bellamy Building
        Tallahassee, Florida 32306-2023
and request information on the Academic Diving Program.

Hope this helps,
Chris Hamlin
