I heard the original SFB radio broadcast of the Berlin Philharmonie concert
from which DG took the 1982 Karajan Mahler Ninth. In sound terms it was
one of the finest concert relays I have ever heard. When I later heard the
travesty DG issued I could not believe it was from the same event. They
should have issued the radio tape.

The Bernstein Berlin PO Mahler Ninth on DG is a radio tape and, in sound
terms, is excellent.
