Yes indeed!  'Twas Manuel Ponce (1882-1948) who composed that lovely
little piece, "Estrellita," or "Little Star."  He wrote the song in 1914,
and it became immensely popular in Latin America.  In 1943, Ponce
utilized the theme of that song for his own Violin Concerto.  Jascha
Heifetz transcribed the song for violin, and Perlman performs it --
beautifully! -- on _A Tribute to Jascha Heifetz_ (EMI: 7-49604-2; 1989).
