A hearty thanks to Richard Pennycuick for providing an article about the
European Union's new directive on noise in the workplace.  As the article
points out, adherence to the directive could result in the altering of
concert programming in order to insure that the mandated decibel levels
are not exceeded.

There is a way around the new directive - fewer instruments in the
orchestra.  Would that bother a Mahler enthusiast?
