I received the programs for the Boston Symphony 2006-2007 season today,
and took the opportunity to count overtures.  It turns out that just two
overtures are scheduled:

   John Harbison's Darkbloom Overture- oddly enough repeated from
   this season.

   Rimsky Korsakov: Russian Easter Overture

It seems that overtures must go on the endangered musical forms list -
soon to found only on milk cartons.
