Wow you guys are awesome.  Would it help to narrow the list at all to
know that although the flautist is quite good, the orchestra is not
(Orchestra strings are stronger though.) Are there any pieces with less
difficult orchestra parts?  I think the soloist wants a more upbeat,
lively feel to it, rather than some of the more ethereal (not quite the
word, but best I can come up with right now), evocative sounds.

Thanks a lot!  I'll definitely look into the pieces you all suggested.
