I was reading a review of Ring recordings by Alan Blyth in an old book
called Opera on Record. In it he said that John Culshaw made a passing
remark that Decca recorded the 1955 Ring at Bayreuth live and *in stereo*.

Could this be possible? If so, was the conductor Kappertbusch or Keilberth?
Imagine a live stereo Ring with Kna, Hotter, Varnay, Windgassen etc. It
would surely eclipse the somewhat hysterical Solti effort which would be
a good explanation of why such a recording would have gathered dust in the
archives for almost 50 years ...

If it does exist I wonder if it could ever be released.
