Internationally Acclaimed Bulgarian Virtuosi in Concert at Carnegie Hall
Weill Recital Hall on Sunday, April 29

New York, NY - The internationally acclaimed Bulgarian Virtuosi will be
in concert on Sunday, April 29 - 2:00 PM at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie
Hall, 154 W.  57th Street in Manhattan, presented by Bulgarian Virtuosi
Artists.

Performers will include the Bulgarian Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, Stefan
Linev, Music Director and Conductor, violinist David Bowlin, cellist
Kalin Ivanov and clarinetist Todd Brunel.  Performer biographical
information is included below.

Repertoire for this concert will be three 20th and 21st century
works from Bulgarian composers: Krassimir Kyurkchiyski's 3 Pieces
for Strings, Marin Goleminovs' 3 Sketches for Strings and Alexandra
Karastoyanova-Hermentin's Concerto for Violin and Strings, along with
contemporary American composer Rick Sowash's Concerto for Cello with
Strings and Clarinet.  The Karastoyanova-Hermentin and Sowash works
will both be World Premieres.

Rick Sowash's Concerto for Cello with Strings and Clarinet, which was
commissioned by Kalin Ivanov, is in four movements: I.  Hymns and Fugues,
II.  Bulgarian Blues; III.  Sorbet and IV.  Finale.  He has written about
himself, 'Rick Sowash lives by his wits: composing, publishing sheet
music and producing CDs of his original compositions, which are broadcast
on many American classical music stations.  Rick's music comprised the
film score of the PBS documentary: "Ohio: 200 Years." His Clarinet Quintet
was premiered in Paris in 1996.  Two of his recent chamber works won
acclaim at the Cannes Film Festival in 2003.  Rick lives with Jo, his
wife of 34 years, in Cincinnati, Ohio.' More about the composer at

Russian-Bulgarian composer and pianist Alexandra Karastoyanova-Hermentin
was born in Moscow, where she studied piano and composition.  She continued
her studies in Sofia, Bulgaria and in Salzburg.  Her compositions have
been played worldwide by orchestras and ensembles such as Mozarteum
Orchestra Salzburg, the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), Da
Capo Chamber Players and the =D6sterreichisches Ensemble fur Neue Musik
(=D6ENM).  She has received commissions from the Salzburg Government for
the VIVA!  Mozart exhibition celebrating Mozart's 250th birthday, ORF
(Austrian National Broadcasting), stArt-Festival Salzburg and the HAMS
Competition in Chicago.  She has also participated in many festivals in
the U.S.  and Europe.

Bulgarian Virtuosi Artists was founded in 1995 as a New York -
based music society formed by prominent Bulgarian cellist Kalin Ivanov.
An exciting group of performers, the B.V.A.  provides opportunities for
some of the finest Bulgarian musicians to perform on concert stages all
over the U.S.  and in Europe.  In 2003, B.V.A.  celebrated its eighth
year anniversary concert season with the presentation of the new CD label
