Janos provided a quote from KDFC program director Bill Lueth:

> "Opera is polarizing. The opera lover typically likes classical
> music, but the classical lover doesn't like opera.

What a jerk I've been, thinking that opera was one of the categories of
classical music. I'll continue being a jerk.

My personal experience has been that many opera lovers want nothing to
do with other classical music. But, I don't agree with the polarizarion
theme. Nothing in the world of music remotely approaches the polarization
between religious believers and non-believers.

Personally, I find it quite natural to like opera and the other classical
music genres. It is all classical music. I'd play a Puccini opera right
now if I had one in the house.
