I was listening yesterday to Crusell's three clarinet quartets. They are
delightful works full of fine melodies with a little bit of angst thrown
in. I also greatly enjoy his clarinet concertos, even more than I do those
of Weber or Krommer.

There are three recordings of the quartets that I'm aware of. I've had the
Hyperion versions for many years, and more recently, obtained the recording
on BIS. Has anyone heard the renditions on Ondine? I think I remember it
getting good reviews but I don't recollect any comparisons with the BIS or
Hyperion releases.
