Yes most early works by Mendelssohn, one of my favorite composers, are
very dear to me. Let me note a lot of his string symphonies, some of what
were composed at the age of fourteen, and his Midsummers-night dream suite
cannot be forgotten, also written at an early age. To me Mendelssohns
first works were some of his best, not counting his string quartets written
a bit latter, those to me are his obscure ultimate achievement.

Nicolas.
