Scott Morrison on" Gerontius"

I read it a while ago and enjoyed it greatly. Apparently that trip from
England up the Amazon which is at the center of the book really happened.
It is full of interesting detail - Elgar always had serious hobbies, and at
this stage he gathered water samples to examine with his microscope. An
interesting afterward by the author relates that Elgar, on a trip to Gemany
in the early thirties, was horrified by what the Nazis were already doing,
and concerned for the Jews.
