Well, the original subject line was "burned out", a condition that may
excuse a bit of hyperbole, like the worried mother who says "if that kid
isn't hurt, I'm going to kill him".

Of course actual bans on certain music, unlike infanticide, haven't been
that uncommon in our life times.  There was a time and place when the
music of Mendelssohn, Mahler, Schoenberg, and Hindemith, among others, was
banned, and there is at least one country where the public performance of
Wagner is virtually banned to this day.
