I have had a broadcast recording of Barshai conducting his completion
of the Mahler 10 for some time.  Some Mahlerians find things to enjoy
in it.  I say it is the worst and most self-indulgent of all the
completions.  Had Barshai been completing Shostakovich's 16th Symphony,
it would be wonderful.  Unfortunately, it sounds nothing like Mahler.
