I guess the trouble is that (as we all know) Gould's style of playing,
even within the same repertoire, can be completely different.  So it
wouldn't surprise me if his Rhapsodies were odd, but his Intermezzi were
more or less in the tradition.  His Brahms 2 pc is another (better known)
example:  an interpretation that has baffled many.
