Robert Peters asked:

>What exactly is classical music?

I don't think it's possible to answer what it is "exactly", but here's
a guide to help you identify whether or not the music you hear is
classical:

1) If the musicians aren't wearing shirts, then they're probably not
playing classical music.

2) If it's played on a TV show during prime time, it's probably not
classical music. If the TV show is American Idol, then it's definitely
not classical music.

3) If it's played in a TV commercial during prime time, there's a good
chance it's classical music, or an attempted imitation of classical music
-- especially if it's an artsy commercial for perfume or fancy cars.

4) If it's a pounding metronomic drum beat emanating from a car, and
your windows rattle as the car passes by your home, then it's not
classical music (definitely not Pachelbel).

Hope this helps.
