My husband, who is well travelled in Europe and is currently visiting
Italy, supplied the following info:

   [Verdi is] not now [on an Italian banknote], though I think he used
   to be, but Bellini is. I have seen Debussy on a French banknote [so
   have I - VHK] and Sweelink on a Dutch one, possibly not recently.
   Clara Schumann appears on a German banknote, but I think it's 5 marks,
   now usually a coin.
