I think we should all draw back and take a cleansing breath. The
discussion has begun to turn personal (and I'm as guilty of that as
anyone). I myself harbor no ill will to anybody on the other side,
and I hope they extend me the same forgiveness, putting down whatever
hurtful zingers I may have flung to argumentative exuberance. The
all-repeats-all-the-time side - well, I just don't agree or perhaps even
understand the premises under which they proceed. But I certainly think
there's something fine about their passion in looking out for the interests
of those not around to defend themselves - Bach, Mozart, Beethoven,
Schubert, and company.

With this, I lay aside my keyboard on the subject (permanently, I hope) and
leave the last word to somebody else.
