The American Chamber Ensemble Announces Its Gala Annual Music Party And
2005-2006 Season
The American Chamber Ensemble has announced details of its Gala Annual
Music Party and 2005-2006 concert season.
On Sunday, September 25, 2005 at 3 PM, ACE will present its Annual Music
Party on the 10th Floor of Hofstra University's Axinn Library in Hempstead.
Special guest Stanley Drucker, principal clarinet of the New York
Philharmonic will join pianist Blanche Abram, clarinetist Naomi Drucker
and other members of ACE in a program of informal music making that will
preview the upcoming season.
Admission to the Gala Annual Music Party is by contribution only.

The American Chamber Ensemble's Long Island season opening concert,
Honoring Long Island Composer Irwin Swack, will be presented on Sunday,
November 6, 2005, at 3 p.m. when the Music Department of Hofstra
University presents ACE at the University's Monroe Lecture Center
Theater on California Avenue, Hempstead.
Featured pieces will include Irwin Swack's Quartet for four clarinets
and Profiles for violin, clarinet and cello, along with Ludwig Spohr's
Six Songs for soprano, clarinet and piano and Brahms' Sonata in e minor
for cello and piano and Quartet No. 1 in g minor for piano and strings.
Tickets at Hofstra University Box Office - $10 ($8 senior citizens 65+
and non-Hofstra students). One free ticket with current Hofstra Card.

The American Chamber Ensemble will return for its Eighth Annual
Carnegie Hall Concert on Saturday, March 4, 2006, at 2 PM - Weill
Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, New York. Mid-America Productions
presents ACE performing Irwin Swack's Profiles for violin, clarinet and
cello, along with the World Premiere of Joelle Wallach's After Alcyon's
Dream for clarinet, viola and piano and the New York City Premiere of
Benjamin Lees' Tapestry for flute, clarinet, cello and piano (a special
ACE 40th Anniversary Commission). Johannes Brahms' Sonata in e minor
for cello and piano and David Diamond's Quintet for flute, violin, viola,
cello and piano will also be presented.

It's Spring! is the theme of the ACE concert on Sunday, April 2, 2006,
at 3 p.m., when The Music Department of Hofstra University will once
again present ACE at the University's Monroe Lecture Center Theater on

Works to be performed are Bernard Herrmann's Quintet for clarinet and
string quartet, Amy Beach and Ernest Chausson Songs for soprano, piano
and strings and Shostakovich's Piano Quintet in g minor for piano and
strings
