Rattle is pretty good, although not my favourite.

I think the clearest recording, which is also very good, is Chailly on
Decca.  I think the best performances on record are Rosbaud (1950 mono)
and - believe it or not - Ozawa (a rather stretched Toronto SO celebrating
the centenary of Confederation).

Neither is perfect, but what is in this life?

BTW you might also like to try Messiaen's Quatuour pour le fin du temps
(Tashi on RCA if you can find it).
