Curious that a 1942 book of symphonies obviously weighted toward Americans
would include symphonies of Hadley, Hill, Mason, Sowerby and Stringham and
not those of Roy Harris, Harl McDonald and Randall Thompson, all three
considered comers that year.

More curious still is a book in 1942 listing Dvorak's final two symphonies
as Nos. 8 and 9 (or was that a bit of tidy anachronistic editing, Steve?).
