Barbara Harbach Transcription of For Unto Us a Child is Born to be
Performed by Central Wisconsin Symphony on December 6 and 7

Barbara Harbach's transcription of Parvulus Filius (For Unto Us a Child
is Born) will be performed by the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra,
Patrick Miles, Music Director as part of their Celebrate Winter concerts
on Saturday, December 6 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, December 7 at 4:00 pm,
both at the Sentry Theater of the University of Wisconsin at Steven's
Point University Center, 1015 Reserve Street in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.

Parvulus Filius (For Unto Us a Child is Born) is Ms. Harbach's
transcription for brass instruments of the original work by Sulpitia
Cesis, a 16th century Italian composer and lutenist in Modena at the
convent of San Agostino.

Other works on the program will be Joseph Stillwell's fanfare competition
winner Jaunt, the Eugene Ormandy/J.S.  Bach Chorale Prelude: Wachet auf
Ruft Uns die Stimme, traditional selections announced from the stage and
Old Scots Dances.

Individual tickets to the December 6 and 7 concerts are $20, student

These concerts coincide with the release of Ms. Harbach's new CD
Toccatas, Flourishes & Fugues, A Celebration of Hymns on MSR Classics
(MS1254), in which she performs on the Aeolian-Skinner Organ of

of Barbara Harbach CD series.

As a composer, Barbara Harbach has a large catalog of works, including
symphonies, works for chamber ensemble, string orchestra, organ,

also involved in the research, editing and publication of manuscripts
